Take the initiative - quickly
The professional is 5 times more likely to get hired if he or she is the first to contact the client. That way, our clients see that you offer a good service from the very beginning. Since it all comes down to the client who has to decide to hire you, you may as well put all the chances on your side!
You need to reply to each client who contacts you as quickly as possible - even if you are not interested initially.
There are several reasons to respond quickly:
- You show the client that you are interested in his project. Clients manually choose you from a list of professionals and wait for you to answer them.
- You are ranked higher in search results when you respond quickly to requests.
- You are getting closer to the Top Pro status. To be a Top Pro you need to respond within 24 hours to at least 75% of requests.
How to reply
You will find your new messages in your Inbox. You can follow these steps:
1. Go to your Inbox.
2. Devote your attention to the messages with a number in a red circle looking like this, or filter the "Unread" messages.
3. Feel free to follow up on the messages which were already sent.
4. Don't forget to personalize your message to show clients that you care. Let them know that you are the right professional to hire for this project.
How to follow-up
Pick up your phone and be convincing. As soon as the client sends you a message - if their number is available - call them quickly (within an hour!). Get the details of the project in front of you to convince them that you are the perfect professional for their project.
Summarize your call by describing the next steps for the project in the StarOfService message center. If the customer wants to compare the offers of different professionals, you will certainly stand out with this summary!
The client does not answer your first call. Don't be discouraged! Leave a voice message, and send an SMS while following up through the StarOfService messaging center with details reminding the client of his request.
Be responsive
To speed up your response time:
- If you have not already done so, activate Turbo.
